As a former college dean and relationship builder, Josh seeks to collaboratively develop solutions and foster partnerships that lead to outstanding outcomes.
For five years, Josh was the Dean of Advanced Technology and supervised the Digital Media and Broadcasting/Video Production programs. Over five years and in conjunction with faculty and industry, the programs were modernized to HD capability, LED wall, with high-demand graduates. The goal: “students walk confidently across the stage and successfully into a career.”
Prior to Bates, he was the Dean of Trades and Technology at Green River College, where he helped develop four bachelor degrees. With opportunities in Aviation, IT, and Forestry, students had outstanding hands-on experiences for place bound students.
As a teacher, he won recognition by winning statewide “Green Schools Award” twice for the State of Florida. He is also National Board Certified physics teacher. With is wife, he taught in California, Kuwait, and Key West, Florida. He has a masters degree in physics and a MBA.
