The Challenge
Duplicating the Viewer Experience
Because the new Live Command Center (LCC) was the nerve center of technology across various functional groups, including Network IT, Applications, and Content Operations, the facility design needed to be sensitive to those groups’ needs and the dynamic nature of the work they were to perform in the LCC. Dozens of consumer grade device types, plus the organizations’ own proprietary QA apps needed to coexist on the platform. And each would require a specific physical space allocation for the operator, as well as its IP allocation on a sophisticated network. This convergence of IP scale and operator ergonomics demanded a precise design.
Further, the construction of the LCC into an existing facility, with finite square footage and certain other constraints, would require careful consideration for the mechanical assembly of the systems – and also for sustained serviceability.
