Global Streaming Media Giant

The world’s largest streaming entertainment platform, serving 200+ million subscribers across 190+ countries expanded beyond on-demand streaming to include live event production—covering sports, award shows, and breakthrough programming. In 2025 ZTransform was selected to design and integrate a next‑generation Live Command Center (LCC) at its Los Gatos, California hub, delivering continuous monitoring and validation of all consumer devices to safeguard a consistently premium visual and audio experience for its live stream subscribers.

The Goal

Scalable and Repeatable

Due to some urgency for already-contracted live event production, ZTransform first worked with the customer to construct a temporary, single operator Live Command Center pod to manage a limited quantity of events in late 2024.

Once the temp systems were up and running, the focus turned to the formal design effort for the construction of a 10-pod Live Command Center operation to perform all the quality assurance for the end user experience, and also the identification, escalation and resolution of performance anomalies on any of the consumer platforms.

This new Live Command Center would carry this established media giant nto 2025 and beyond to become a strong competitor in live streamed event production and stream delivery.

Leveraging our strong relationships with manufacturers was key to procuring the equipment in the time frame needed.

The Challenge

Duplicating the Viewer Experience

Because the new Live Command Center (LCC) was the nerve center of technology across various functional groups, including Network IT, Applications, and Content Operations, the facility design needed to be sensitive to those groups’ needs and the dynamic nature of the work they were to perform in the LCC. Dozens of consumer grade device types, plus the organizations’ own proprietary QA apps needed to coexist on the platform. And each would require a specific physical space allocation for the operator, as well as its IP allocation on a sophisticated network. This convergence of IP scale and operator ergonomics demanded a precise design.

Further, the construction of the LCC into an existing facility, with finite square footage and certain other constraints, would require careful consideration for the mechanical assembly of the systems – and also for sustained serviceability.

The Solution

Plug 'n Play with Automated Signal Monitoring

The product selection and conceptual designs were completed by the company’s inhouse engineering team and delivered to ZTransform to convert into construction-grade documents and wirelisting. System fabrication, installation and circuit performance testing was all performed by ZTransform. This included both the Command Center control room with a massive modular monitor wall system, as well as the adjacent IDF where the mainframe systems resided. A key element of the system is the TAG monitoring platform, providing early detection for performance anomalies, allowing automated issue detection and resolution to quickly resolve any anomalies, often before customers are even aware they exist.

With serviceability and reconfiguration being key goals of the operation, ZTransform installed intermediate IP interconnect panels for each console position, with an articulating cable chain system along the leg to allow strain relief for the sit/stand feature of the operator consoles.
The dynamic evolution and release of the consumer playback devices also drove significant mid-project revisions to allow for more capacity and specific formats within the design. The client’s foresight to design a versatile system proved smart even before the platform was launched!

The Result

Bringing More to the Viewer

Upon completion in mid 2025, The new Live Command Center began supporting all livestream events including WWE Raw, professional boxing, Star Search, select NFL games, Alex Honnold’s Skyscraper Event, and many, many more.

The LCC provides continuous monitoring and validation of all consumer devices to ensure the subscriber’s experience is visually and sonically optimized, with extremely high availability.
With the LCC, this influential global media organization has achieved a new level of customer experience for live content.
We’re proud to have been invited in on this project for such a globally recognized brand – and more importantly to deliver on time despite all the challenges we were up against.
